The Express Entry system manages the FSW program and uses the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to rank applicants who want to settle permanently in Canada Unlike CEC candidates, Federal skilled workers are not required to have any Canadian work experience to enter Canada’s Express Entry pool. Instead, candidates must achieve a certain number of points based on factors such as their work experience, language ability and education. Once in the pool of applicants, those with the highest CRS scores will receive invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

Who is eligible for the FSW program?
To qualify for the FSW program, a candidate must meet specific minimum requirements regarding years of relevant experience, educational background, age, and English/French language proficiency.
Experience of Work
Skilled work experience means having experience classified as NOC Skill Level 0, A, or B.
Language Proficiency
You must achieve a minimum score of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 (or equivalent) on an approved English or French language test.
Education
At least a high school diploma or the equivalence in foreign education.
Financial Support
Enough funds to support themselves and any spouse and/children in their settlement in Canada.
Residence in Canada
You must intend to live outside of Quebec.
